Abstract
The paper focuses on the 'forgotten' pioneer Irish Buddhist monk U Dhammaloka. It examines the narratives of Dhammaloka’s Indian Himalayan adventures and explores the religious and socio-political context of Dhammaloka’s claims to regal patronage in Lhasa and Nepal.
