Abstract

Sense of belonging, or belongingness, is an individual's subjective experience of being accepted and valued within an academic community. Student belongingness is important because it is associated with well-being, academic engagement, persistence, and retention. However, belongingness is influenced by social indicators which make students minorities in their school. We investigate the drop in belongingness of minoritised male undergraduate computing students in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
