Abstract
This article featured as part of the Irish Civil War digital project, produced by the Atlas of the Irish Revolution Team, UCC and RTÉ Digital, and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries programme. The Civil War project on RTÉ History commemorates the centenaries of key events in the conflict. The site offers illustrated accounts and explainers of crucial events from the transfer of power at Dublin Castle to the Battle of Dublin, from the death of Michael Collins to the establishment of the Irish Free State, accompanied by image galleries and interactive maps.
