Abstract
The paper firstly introduces the state-of-the-art wind power technology and its control technology, the relevant grid codes that are being proposed and implemented by European and American transmission system operators, and the market place of wind power in the deregulated European electricity markets. Secondly, the paper analyzes the main issues arising in the exploration of wind energy, the prospective development of wind power technology and the competitiveness of the wind power generation under the unbundled electricity market circumstance.
