Abstract

The Farm-to-Fork Strategy requires strong decrease in the use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers to restore bio-diversity and avoid losses in the environment. This comes with the development of "integrated pest management"and "integrated nutrient management"approaches. Digitalization is foreseen as an enabler of the deployment of the Farm-to-fork strategy. However, digitalization comes with different challenges to be solved, ranging from technology robustness and distrust of the farmers to data ownership and management, but also digital divide. There digital solutions require in-situ measurement, satellite data, communication and Decision Support Systems to provide advices to the farmer regarding the management of his/her farm.
