XG-PON Raman reach extender based on quantum dot lasers

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingsChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Quantum dot lasers are demonstrated for the first time as Raman pumps for amplification of the 1270nm XG-PON upstream band, enabling support of a 50km trunk fibre with a 46.7dB loss budget, which is higher than the E2 class.
