Biography

Conor Philpott is a recent PhD graduate from the School of Education at University College Cork, Ireland. His thesis was entitled: "Investigating the relationship between perceived motor competence and actual motor competence in adolescent youth". A former second-level teacher of English and Physical education, his primary research interests lie in Physical Education, motor competence, and perceived motor competence, adapted physical activity, and attitudes towards inclusion in second-level education. In his PhD thesis he led the development of the Project Flame Perceived Motor Competence (PF-PMC) tool, and co-led the the randomised controlled trial of the Project FLAME school initiative, a programme targeting motor competence among Junior Cycle students in Irish secondary schools.
