| GeneralDescription | Each panel of the Cross of the Scriptures at Clonmacnois, Co. Offaly, is framed separately. The cross shaft and base have roll moulding at their edges, and each panel is separated by a projecting frame. It is noticeable that the arms of the cross tilt upwards. |
| West | Crucifixion. Jesus is shown with his legs tied, wearing a lower garment only. His hands are clearly nailed. Stephaton offers vinegar while Longinus spears Jesus's side. There is an angel above Jesus head and a plinth/ suppedaneum beneath his feet. |
