Dimity Dutch
Research Profile
Biography
Dimity Dutch is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Public Health. Dimity is working on the Standardised measurement for Childhood Obesity Prevention (SCOPE) Project (https://eiascope.com/).
SCOPE is a Health Research Board funded project led by Dr Karen Matvienko-Sikar. The aim of the SCOPE project is to develop a standardised outcome measurement set, including reliable, valid, and appropriate measures of core infant-feeding outcomes for implementation in research and practice. Ultimately, this project will enhance synthesis and evaluation of childhood obesity prevention interventions.
Dimity is a Dietitian and PhD Candidate in the Caring Futures Institute at Flinders University in South Australia. She obtained a First Class Honours degree in the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Flinders University, 2018) which investigated diet quality of Australian children and adolescents on weekdays versus weekend days.
Dimity's PhD research investigated health behaviour screening in primary health care as a strategy to support children's growth, health and development in the early years.
Dimity is also a member of the EPOCH-Connect Community of Practice and Coordination Committee which aims to support research students and EMCRs from diverse disciplines and research institutes to connect and collaborate on activities to improve child health in the early years. https://earlychildhoodobesity.com/about-us/epoch-connection-community-of-practice/
Dimity has experience working as a clinical dietitian in rehabilitation, palliative care, acute and private practice settings. She also has experience in the research setting working on projects within the Caring Futures Institute at Flinders University including VegKIT (https://www.vegkit.com.au/) & Healthy Conversations @ Playgroup (https://www.flinders.edu.au/caring-futures-institute/our-research/research-projects/healthy-conversa....
