Eva Bru-Dominguez
Biography
I was an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow based at the Department of Hispanic Studies, University College Cork from September 2012. My research project 'Dislocations: the Catalan Body in the Contemporary Global Imaginary' explores the ways in which notions of identity society and culture specific to the Catalan context are conveyed in contemporary visual culture and performance through the fragmented, abstract and dislocated body, treated as a locus for mediating local/global relations. I am currently continuing to work on this project as a lecturer in Hispanic Studies at Bangor University.
Research Interests
Catalan visual culture and narrative fiction; identity studies; the body; the body, gender and sexuality studies; monsters and the monstrous; visual and spectatorship theory; urban and spatial studies.
