Mark is a Consultant Breast Surgeon, director of core surgical training in Cork and a graduate of University College Cork. He is the developer and author of the award winning medical education website ‘Surgent’ used in 102 different countries. He is the creator of the umbrella internet site ‘Pilgrims’ Hospital’ which houses several online medical education initiatives including Surgent, Pilgrims presentations and the international peer to peer teaching system ‘Surgent University’. He is also the author of the Wiley Blackwell textbook “Make a Decision: Surgery”. Additionally he helped form the breast cancer research group in Cork and his research interests are breast cancer, medical education and medical informatics.
