Biography

Parvaneh Nowbakht is a Post Doctoral researcher, part of TRANSLATE project, in the Geography department at the University College Cork (UCC) and MaERI, whose goals are to  standardise future climate projections for Ireland and develop climate services. Her doctoral research was in the area of geoprivacy protection and development of several polygon-based obfuscation methods. Her background in data science , mathematical modelling, hydrological modelling and her interest in the explanatory power of Machine learning and spatial analysis will allow her to effectively involve in different discipline particularly geographical research.

Research Interests

  • Spatial data analysis
  • Geoprivacy protection
  • Machine learning
  • Climate change
