BIOGRAPHY
Initially a Language Demonstrator (Portuguese), Sofia is now a College Language Teacher at the Department of Hispanic Studies. She is responsible for teaching, examining and coordinating Portuguese related modules. She designs the programmes and course materials and is currently working on the development of Portuguese as a Minor Subject.
As a language teacher, Sofia is mostly interested in the pedagogy of language teaching and learning, and language acquisition. Other areas of interest include studies in identity and post-colonialism. Sofia is also involved in activities for the promotion of Portuguese in UCC.
