Biography
Dr.
Shafi K Khadem is a senior researcher and leading the EDGE (embedded and
distributed generation systems) research group in IERC. His research interest
and experiences cover wide area of micro and intelligent grid network with special
focus on grid stability and power quality, embedded & distributed
generation systems integration, and smart energy communities. He has received
several prizes/grants from different institutions including HEA (IE), ICTP
(IT), EU Erasmus (UK), DIT (IE), IRCSET (IE), IEEE (USA) etc. He has more than
50 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals from IEEE, IET, Elsevier,
Taylor & Francis and in conference proceedings. Currently, Dr Khadem is
executing and technical lead in multiple industries and IERC collaborative
research projects on grid services (PASSAGE), community based microgrid (MiFIC),
VPP for smart energy communities (StoreNet), centre lead of H2020 project
(PANTERA) and ERA-NET SES project on peer-to-peer energy trading for local
energy communities (BEYOND). He is currently a member of IEEE smart grid, power,
energy society and the evaluation panel H2020 MSCA (IF). Strongly involved with ETIP SNET (The European
Technology & Innovation Platform Smart Networks for Energy Transition)
Working Group 5 (Innovation implementation in the business environment) to
support the development of ETIP SNET R&I roadmap 2020 to 2030. In 2017, he also
led the Electricity Transmission System Leadership Training Course for top
management staff of the newly created Electricity Sector Regulatory Agency
(ARSEL) Cameroon.
