Location Church at Stonegrave.
GeneralContext Stone type: Fine-grained, calcareous, very pale brown sandstone, with occasional shell debris.
Dimensions 21cm (8.25'') high, 31cm (12.25'') wide, and 17.5cm (6.9'') thick.
GeneralDescription Cross Base fragment, dated to the tenth century.
GeneralDescription At the base of this fragment there is a canine animal facing left. It has a short curled tail and pricked ears. Above it there is a roughly incised horizontal line. Above that to the left there are faint traces of interlace.
