Each panel of the Cross of the Scriptures at Clonmacnois, Co. Offaly, is framed separately. The cross shaft and base have
roll moulding at their edges, and each panel is separated by a projecting frame. It is noticeable that the arms of the cross
tilt upwards.

N2 (?) The burial of Paul the Hermit. See Harbison, 1992, p.53 for further discussion of this panel. A long robed seated figure
is seen playing a musical instrument that consists of three pipes. Two lions lie facing outward beneath the figure.
